Just BE! Newsletter – Issue 11 – “Trust: The Bridge”

Dear friend,
Grace greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ. This month I feel impressed to share with you a poem I wrote sometime ago. Let the poem minister unto you. It is titled "The Bridge".

The Bridge

Morning opens up like a sunflower,
Yet, your heart remains heavy with uncertainty.
You slept, far far from rest.
You prayed, but doubt choked you like cobwebs.
You are not to blame,
It is just the way we are.
Despair,
At the haze over the future.
But alas, you know the end
For those seasons of exclusion,
Aloneness, yet with doses of loneliness,
Rendered illumination to your inner silhouette.
The present, you tread with caution.
Questions arise;
“What is between the future and the present?
What is that bridge?”
Random searching.
Introspection.
Still, an emptiness. A nothingness.
It is a black hole.
You would not dare there to go,
It incloses you like a discotheque;
You cave in at the thought of it.
“But still what is that bridge between the now
and the tomorrow?”
You rest your oars. You scan around.
Similitudes of your tomorrow,
Walking in life’s dramatis personae.
But you can’t be somebody else;
It’s suicide!
“I’ve got to be me! I’ve got to be who
I’m meant to be! I’ve seen me in the future,
I’ve seen me in the future!”
You echo to your inner self.
Suddenly, it flickers again.
Swift brooding upon the mental portrait.
Wealth, power and peace,
A quintessence of human typicals.
Your thoughts stray beyond the skies,
Beyond the reverent firmaments
Then bliss like warm springs
For hope has just come.
“Why is your heart troubled? Fear not.
Your life spins in my axis. The sun’s rays
Touch down on the earth
No matter the spatial obstacles.
Hurdles will come. Only let your trust abide in Me.
I showed you even that end; Let Me take you
There.”
Now you can rest,
Now you can sleep,
Now you can BE.
For between the now and the then,
The bridge is no more a phantom;
It is the very bridge you looked for.

The poem has a simple message: When we are not sure of when and how we are going to enter the fullness of God’s will for our lives, all we must do is to trust God. Trust is higher than faith ( in my own estimation). This is because faith is always result oriented, but trust says, “Whether or not it happens, God is in charge”. The Bible rightly says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5,6 KJV). Dear friend, trust God! He’s working to make sure you arrive at your Canaan! Just BE! Live a fulfilled life! Take charge!
I love you.
